Attorney Estela R. Unzueta
Attorney Estela R. Unzueta is the Managing Partner of Unzueta Law Group, P.C. An experienced real estate and immigration lawyer, Estela has spent over 18 years providing quality legal services and fighting for her clients.
Estela began her career with the United States District Court in Chicago, Illinois where she began working in 1992 as Secretary to the Directors. In that role, she coordinated attorney admission to the federal bar. From the position, Estela went on to be the courtroom deputy for the Honorable Blanche M. Manning. In 2006, Estela began as of counsel at Ana M. Mencini & Associates, P.C., where she concentrated in family-based immigration and family law.
In 2012, Estela ventured off and opened the doors to her own practice, Unzueta Law Group, P.C. Estela is well-versed in real estate law. She has successfully represented clients in real estate transactions. She has worked on thousands of real estate transactions and has protected the interests of each and every client regardless of the complexity of the transaction. Estela has many years of experience working on immigration cases. She has prevailed on numerous adjustment of status cases, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions, waiver cases, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) applications.
Estela graduated from DePaul University in 2000 with a major in management and a minor in Spanish. In addition, she holds a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, which was awarded in May of 2004. Estela sat for the bar exam in July of 2004 and was admitted to the practice of law in Illinois in November of 2004.
While at Chicago-Kent, Estela earned a certificate in labor and employment law, was on the Dean’s list, earned the CALI Award for Highest Grade in Illinois Civil Procedure, and studied immigration law under Carla Tapia Ruano, past president of AILA.
Estela was born and raised in Chicago and has resided in the Chicago-land area her entire life. She is active in her community and has appeared as a legal expert in local radio programs. During her free time, Estela loves spending time with her husband, three children, and extensive family. She is fluent in Spanish.
